1. Open the hood of your vehicle.
2. Locate the air filter housing, which is usually a large black plastic box located on the top of the engine.
3. Remove the air filter housing by unlatching the clips or screws that hold it in place.
4. Once the air filter housing is removed, you will see the throttle body. It is a round metal component located on the side of the engine, just below the air filter housing.
5. The throttle body has a butterfly valve inside that controls the amount of air that enters the engine. When you press the accelerator pedal, the throttle body opens the valve to allow more air to enter, which increases the engine speed.
