How do you replace the headlight bulb located on a 2001 Chevy Cavalier Z24?

Tools and Materials Needed

* Replacement headlight bulb (check your owner's manual for the correct size)

* Phillips screwdriver

* Flathead screwdriver

* Socket wrench with 10mm socket

Instructions

1. Park your car in a level spot and turn off the engine. Allow the headlights to cool down if they have been on.

2. Open the hood of your car and locate the headlight assembly. It is on the front of the car, behind the plastic lens cover.

3. Remove the plastic cover by turning the screws holding it in place. Set the screws and plastic cover aside.

4. Locate the headlight bulb. It is a round, glass object held in place by a metal bracket.

5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the back of the headlight bulb by squeezing the plastic tab and pulling the connector straight off.

6. Remove the metal bracket holding the headlight bulb in place by turning the screws holding it in place. Set the screws and metal bracket aside.

7. Remove the old headlight bulb from the housing by turning it counterclockwise.

8. Insert the new headlight bulb into the housing and turn it clockwise until it is snug.

9. Replace the metal bracket and screws.

10. Connect the electrical connector to the back of the new headlight bulb by pushing it in until it snaps into place.

11. Replace the plastic cover and screws.

12. Close the hood of your car and turn on the headlights to test the new bulb.
