How do you know which fuse is for the tail lights have no diagram and some of your fuses are missing?

1. Check the owner's manual. While you mentioned not having a fuse diagram, some owner's manuals include a section that specifies which fuse is responsible for each component in the vehicle. If your owner's manual has this information, consult it to identify the fuse for the tail lights.

2. Locate the fuse box. In most vehicles, the fuse box is located under the hood or inside the car, usually under the dashboard. If you have difficulty finding the fuse box, refer to your owner's manual or search online for the specific location for your vehicle make and model.

3. Identify the tail light fuse. Once you have located the fuse box, look for the fuses that are related to the tail lights. They may be labeled as "tail lights," "rear lights," or something similar. If you cannot find a specific label for the tail lights, you may need to test each fuse individually to determine which one controls the tail lights. (Make sure to do this with the vehicle off)

4. Test the fuses. If you do not have a fuse tester, you can use a simple method to test the fuses. With the vehicle turned off, use a pair of needle-nose pliers to gently remove a fuse from its socket. Hold the fuse up to a light source and inspect the thin metal wire inside. If the wire is broken or melted, the fuse is blown and needs to be replaced. Note- make sure you replace these missing fuses!

5. Replace the blown fuse. If you find a blown fuse, replace it with a new fuse of the same amperage rating. The amperage rating is typically printed on the fuse itself. Do not use a fuse with a higher amperage rating, as this could cause damage to the electrical system.
