How do you replace a headlight bulb on 2003 jaguar s type r?

Tools Needed:

- Flat-head screwdriver

- Small Phillips-head screwdriver

Instructions:

1. Open the hood of your Jaguar.

2. Locate the headlight assembly that you want to replace the bulb in.

3. The upper section of the assembly houses the low-beam bulb, and the lower section houses the high-beam bulb. For your purposes, you’ll need to work on the upper housing area.

4. You’ll need to twist and pull off the plastic cap covering the bulb area. Do this by pulling straight up on the cap. There are no screws or fasteners associated with it, so you can simply pull it off once it’s loosened.

5. Once you’ve removed the cap, you can now disconnect the wiring harness on the bulb. Do this by releasing the plastic tab on the connector. Squeeze it using your thumb and index finger and simultaneously gently pull the connector directly away from the bulb housing to pull it off.

6. Once the harness is disconnected, you’ll need to remove the spring wire holder that runs along the top edge of the bulb. Slide the small flat-head screwdriver into the tab on one end of the wire clip, and lift upwards. The other side of the clip should disengage automatically. Once it’s off the bulb, you can pull it out, making sure not to lose it.

7. Now that the clip’s off, you’re ready to remove the bulb. Twist the bulb in a counterclockwise rotation to remove it from the assembly housing.

8. Carefully pull the old bulb out of the housing. Be careful not to touch the glass portion of the new bulb, as this can cause it to fail prematurely.

9. Hold the new bulb by its base and insert it into the housing. Then, twist it in a clockwise rotation to lock it in place.

10. Reinstall the spring wire clip by snapping it back onto the new bulb.

11. Reconnect the wiring harness to the new bulb.

12. Snap the plastic cap back on the bulb assembly housing.

13. Repeat the process for the other headlight assembly, if necessary.

14. Close the hood of your Jaguar.
