How do you adjust valve clearance on a clio 1.4 8 engine?

To adjust the valve clearance on a Clio 1.4 8 engine, you will need the following tools and materials:

- Socket set

- Allen key set

- Torque wrench

- Feeler gauge

- New valve cover gasket

- Oil

Instructions:

1. Allow the engine to cool down completely.

2. Remove the engine cover.

3. Locate the valve cover and remove the bolts holding it in place.

4. Remove the old valve cover gasket and clean the sealing surface.

5. Apply a thin bead of new gasket maker to the sealing surface of the valve cover.

6. Reinstall the valve cover and tighten the bolts to the specified torque.

7. Locate the valve clearance adjusting screws on the top of the cylinder head.

8. Insert the feeler gauge between the valve stem and the rocker arm.

9. If the clearance is too small, loosen the locknut and turn the adjusting screw clockwise until the correct clearance is achieved.

10. If the clearance is too large, loosen the locknut and turn the adjusting screw counterclockwise until the correct clearance is achieved.

11. Tighten the locknut to secure the adjusting screw in place.

12. Repeat steps 8-11 for the remaining valves.

13. Reinstall the engine cover and start the engine.

14. Check for any leaks and adjust the valve clearances as necessary.

The correct valve clearances are as follows:

- Inlet valves: 0.15-0.20 mm

- Exhaust valves: 0.25-0.30 mm
