Why is a 24hp briggs and stratton intek engine difficult to get the motor turn over at times?

There are several possible reasons why a 24hp Briggs & Stratton Intek engine might be difficult to turn over at times:

- Low battery: The most common reason for difficulty starting a small engine is a low battery. Check the battery voltage using a voltmeter and ensure it's at least 12.5 volts. If it's below 12 volts, you'll need to charge or replace the battery.

- Spark plug issues: A worn-out or damaged spark plug can prevent the engine from starting. Inspect the spark plug and replace it if it's worn or damaged. Make sure the spark plug gap is set to the correct specification.

- Fuel problems: If the fuel tank is empty or the fuel line is clogged, the engine won't start. Check the fuel level and ensure the fuel line is clear. You might also want to drain the old fuel and add fresh fuel.

- Air filter: A clogged air filter can restrict airflow to the engine, making it difficult to start. Remove the air filter and inspect it for dirt and debris. Clean or replace the air filter as needed.

- Compression issues: If the engine has low compression, it might be difficult to start. Low compression can be caused by a worn piston or piston rings, a damaged cylinder head gasket, or a leaking valve. You'll need to take the engine to a qualified small engine mechanic to have the compression checked and any necessary repairs made.
