What motor oil can be used in a polaris ATV?

Polaris ATV Motor Oil Recommendations

Polaris recommends using Polaris PS-4 Full Synthetic ATV/UTV Motor Oil in all of its ATVs. This oil is specifically formulated for use in Polaris ATVs and provides excellent protection against wear, corrosion, and sludge. It also meets or exceeds all API and JASO standards.

However, if you are unable to find Polaris PS-4 Full Synthetic ATV/UTV Motor Oil, you can also use a high-quality synthetic motor oil that meets the following specifications:

* API SL or higher

* JASO MA or MA2

Some popular synthetic motor oils that meet these specifications include:

* Amsoil ATV/UTV Synthetic Motor Oil

* Castrol Power 1 ATV/UTV Synthetic Motor Oil

* Honda GN4 Synthetic ATV/UTV Motor Oil

* Kawasaki KXT Synthetic ATV/UTV Motor Oil

* Mobil 1 ATV/UTV Synthetic Motor Oil

* Motul ATV/UTV Synthetic Motor Oil

* Royal Purple ATV/UTV Synthetic Motor Oil

* Valvoline ATV/UTV Synthetic Motor Oil

Note: It is important to use a high-quality synthetic motor oil in your Polaris ATV to ensure that it receives the best possible protection. Conventional motor oils are not recommended for use in Polaris ATVs.

Changing Your Polaris ATV's Motor Oil

You should change your Polaris ATV's motor oil every 100 hours of operation or once a year, whichever comes first. To change the oil, you will need the following tools and materials:

* A new oil filter

* A new crush washer

* A drain pan

* A funnel

* A wrench

* Motor oil (see above for recommendations)

Instructions:

1. Warm up your ATV for a few minutes to get the oil flowing.

2. Turn off the ATV and let it cool down for a few minutes.

3. Place the drain pan under the oil drain plug.

4. Use the wrench to loosen the oil drain plug and allow the oil to drain into the pan.

5. Once the oil has drained, replace the crush washer and reinstall the oil drain plug.

6. Remove the old oil filter and replace it with a new one.

7. Add new motor oil to the ATV through the oil fill hole. Use the funnel to avoid spills.

8. Check the oil level using the dipstick and add more oil if necessary.
