To start a Yamaha TTR 230 or TTR 250:
- Turn the fuel petcock to the "ON" position.
- Pull in the clutch lever.
- Press the electric start button or kick the kick starter.
- Let the engine warm up for a few minutes before riding.
Notes:
- If the motorcycle is cold, you may need to use the choke. The choke is located on the left side of the carburetor. To use the choke, pull it out all the way. As the engine warms up, gradually push the choke in.
- If the motorcycle has been sitting for a long time, you may need to prime the carburetor. To prime the carburetor, turn the fuel petcock to the "ON" position and wait for a few seconds. Then, press the electric start button or kick the kick starter several times.
