1. Park the vehicle on a level surface and turn off the engine. Allow it to cool down.
2. Open the hood of the vehicle.
3. Locate the engine oil filter housing on the top of the engine on the passenger side. It is a cylindrical-shaped component with an oil filter cap on top.
4. Remove the oil filter cap by turning it counterclockwise. Be careful not to spill any oil.
5. Take out the old oil filter from the housing.
6. Clean the oil filter housing with a clean rag to remove any dirt or debris.
7. Apply a thin coat of new engine oil to the gasket or O-ring of the new oil filter. This will help create a seal and prevent leaks.
8. Screw the new oil filter into the housing until it is snug, turning it clockwise.
9. Replace the oil filter cap by turning it clockwise until it is snug.
10. Close the hood of the vehicle and check the oil level with the dipstick. Add more oil if necessary to bring it to the recommended level.
