1. Preparation:
- You'll need tools like a screwdriver, a Phillips-head screwdriver, a 10mm wrench, and a window installation kit (which typically includes a window gasket).
2. Remove the Door Panel:
- Open the door and remove the door panel by unscrewing the screws that secure it. Take care not to misplace the screws.
3. Remove Old Window:
- Peel or cut away the old weatherstripping around the window frame.
- Locate and remove the three 10mm bolts holding the window in place.
- Carefully lift the window straight out of its frame.
4. Install the Weatherstripping:
- Remove any residual adhesive from the frame.
- Place the new weatherstripping in the window frame, inserting the rubber into the grooves.
5. Install the New Window:
- Place the new window into the frame, ensuring it sits squarely.
- Tighten the three 10mm bolts you removed in step 3 to secure the window.
6. Reattach the Door Panel:
- Align the door panel with its mounting holes and reinstall the screws removed in step 2.
7. Test the Window:
- Close the door and test the window's functionality. Make sure it rolls up and down smoothly.
8. Exterior Trim:
- Install any exterior trim, such as the window crank handle or the window felt, if needed.
