1. Open the hood of your vehicle and locate the power steering fluid reservoir. In the Jetta VR6, it is a translucent plastic tank located on the driver's side of the engine bay, near the firewall.
2. Look at the fluid level in the reservoir. It should be between the "MIN" and "MAX" marks on the side of the tank. If the fluid is below the "MIN" mark, you will need to add some.
3. To add power steering fluid, remove the cap on the reservoir and use a funnel to pour in new fluid. Only use power steering fluid that is specifically recommended for your vehicle.
4. Replace the cap on the reservoir and close the hood of your vehicle.
Check the power steering fluid level regularly, and add more as needed to keep it between the "MIN" and "MAX" marks. If the fluid level drops significantly or quickly, it could be a sign of a leak in the power steering system and you should have it inspected by a qualified mechanic.
