1. Disconnect the battery.
Use a wrench to loosen and remove the negative battery cable from the battery terminal.
2. Remove the air cleaner housing.
Use a screwdriver to remove the hose clamp that holds the air cleaner housing in place. Then, use a wrench to loosen and remove the nuts that hold the air cleaner housing in place. Carefully lift the air cleaner housing out of the way.
3. Remove the starter wires.
Use a wrench to loosen and remove the nuts that hold the starter wires in place. Then, carefully disconnect the starter wires from the starter.
4. Remove the starter mounting bolts.
Use a wrench to loosen and remove the bolts that hold the starter to the engine block.
5. Remove the starter.
Carefully remove the starter from the engine compartment.
6. Re-connect the battery.
Use a wrench to re-tighten the negative battery cable onto the battery terminal.
7. Re-install the air cleaner housing.
Re-attach the air cleaner housing to the engine block. Secure it with the bolts.
8. Re-attach the starter wires.
Re-attach the starter wires to the starter. Secure them with the nuts.
9. Re-tighten the starter bolts.
Re-tighten the starter bolts to the engine block.
10. Start the engine and check for any leaks.
Start the engine and check for any leaks from the starter. If there are any leaks, re-tighten the bolts until the leaks stop.
