1. Start by making sure that all of the gears are in neutral.
2. Press the clutch to the floor.
3. Push the gear shift lever into first gear.
4. Release the clutch slowly.
5. Accelerate while shifting up through the gears.
6. To shift down, press the clutch to the floor and push the gear shift lever into the lower gear.
7. Release the clutch slowly.
8. Brake as you shift down through the gears.
Here are some additional tips for shifting gears:
* Shift into a lower gear when you are driving uphill or when you are slowing down.
* Shift into a higher gear when you are driving downhill or when you are accelerating.
* Do not shift gears when you are driving on a slippery surface.
* If you have trouble shifting gears, stop the vehicle and check the transmission fluid level.
* If the transmission fluid level is correct, have the transmission checked by a qualified mechanic.
