How do you replace speedometer head on a 1983 chevy s-10?

1. Disconnect the battery. This will prevent any electrical accidents from happening while you are working on the speedometer head.

2. Remove the instrument cluster bezel. There are four screws that hold the bezel in place. Remove these screws and then carefully pry the bezel off.

3. Disconnect the speedometer cable. The speedometer cable is attached to the back of the speedometer head. Disconnect the cable by pulling it out of the connector.

4. Remove the four screws that hold the speedometer head in place. Once the screws are removed, you can carefully pull the speedometer head out of the instrument cluster.

5. Install the new speedometer head. Insert the new speedometer head into the instrument cluster and secure it with the four screws.

6. Reconnect the speedometer cable. Push the speedometer cable into the connector until it clicks into place.

7. Reinstall the instrument cluster bezel. Snap the bezel back into place and secure it with the four screws.

8. Reconnect the battery.
