How do you adjust timing on 93 aerostar van 3.0?

1. Turn the ignition key to the "On" position, but do not start the engine.

2. With the engine at operating temperature, locate the timing mark on the crankshaft pulley and the timing mark on the timing chain cover.

3. If the timing marks do not align, loosen the distributor hold-down bolt and rotate the distributor until the timing marks align.

4. Tighten the distributor hold-down bolt.

5. Start the engine and verify the timing with a timing light.
