1. Locate the diagnostic port under the dashboard
2. Connect a scan tool to the diagnostic port
3. Turn on the ignition but do not start the car
4. On the scan tool, select the option to clear the check engine light
5. Follow any additional prompts on the scan tool to complete the reset process
6. Turn off the ignition and disconnect the scan tool
7. Start the car and check to make sure the check engine light is off.
