1. Start the engine, and wait for it to reach operating temperature.
2. Locate the idle speed adjustment screw on the throttle body. It is usually a small screw with a spring around it.
3. Turn the idle speed adjustment screw clockwise to reduce the engine idle speed. Turn it counterclockwise to increase.
Once you have made these adjustments, your engine should idle smoothly at the correct speed.
