Instructions:
1. Disconnect the battery. This is an important safety precaution that will prevent the airbag from deploying while you are working.
2. Remove the steering wheel trim cover. There are two screws on either side of the steering wheel that hold the trim cover in place. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws.
3. Remove the steering wheel air bag. There are two bolts that hold the steering wheel air bag in place. Use a 5mm Allen wrench to remove the bolts. Be careful not to drop the bolts.
4. Disconnect the air bag connector. The air bag connector is located on the back of the steering wheel air bag. Press the release tab and then pull the connector apart.
5. Remove the steering wheel. There is a 21mm nut that holds the steering wheel in place. Use a socket wrench to remove the nut.
6. Remove the ignition switch mounting bracket. There are four screws that hold the ignition switch mounting bracket in place. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws. Be careful not to drop the screws.
7. Pry the ignition switch out of the mounting bracket. Use a pry bar to pry the ignition switch out of the mounting bracket.
8. Remove the ignition switch connector. The ignition switch connector is located on the back of the ignition switch. Press the release tab and then pull the connector apart.
9. Install the new ignition switch. Reverse the steps above to install the new ignition switch. Be sure to tighten all of the screws and bolts securely.
Reconnect the battery and test the ignition switch to make sure that it works properly.
