2) Locate the transmission fluid dipstick. It is usually a red or orange handle located near the back of the engine compartment, near the transmission.
3) Remove the dipstick and check the fluid level. It should be between the “Full” and “Add” marks on the dipstick.
4) If the fluid level is low, add enough fluid to bring it up to the “Full” mark. Use only Dexron III automatic transmission fluid.
5) Replace the dipstick.
6) Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
7) Check the fluid level again. If it is still low, add more fluid until it reaches the “Full” mark.
8) Lower the vehicle and dispose of the old fluid and container according to local regulations.
