Materials Needed
- 12 mm Socket with Ratchet or Wrench
Procedure:
1. Open the hood of your vehicle and locate the serpentine belt tensioner.
2. Slide under your vehicle and locate the serpentine belt tensioner bolt located at the bottom on the tensioner mounting bracket.
3. Once the bolt is located you will need to use the 12 mm socket with ratchet or wrench and remove the bolt from the tensioner.
4. Once the bolt is removed, you will need to remove the tensioner from the engine compartment.
5. To remove the tensioner, you will need to pry the tensioner away from the engine block using the 12 mm socket as leverage.
6. Once the tensioner is removed, you can replace it with a new one.
7. To install the new tensioner, you will need to slide the tensioner into place and then reinsert the 12 mm bolt.
8. Tighten the bolt until the tensioner is securely in place.
9. Once the new tensioner is installed, you can close the hood of your vehicle and start it.
