The fuse for the rear power outlet in a 2005 Explorer is located in the fuse box in the engine compartment. The fuse box is black and is located on the driver's side of the engine compartment, near the battery.
To access the fuse box, open the hood of your Explorer and locate the fuse box cover. The cover is held in place by two plastic clips. Use a flat-head screwdriver to pry the clips open and remove the cover.
Once the fuse box cover is removed, you will see a diagram of the fuse locations. The fuse for the rear power outlet is labeled "PWR OUTLET REAR". It is a 20-amp fuse.
If the fuse for the rear power outlet is blown, you will need to replace it. To do this, use a pair of needle-nose pliers to grasp the fuse and pull it straight out of the fuse box. Be careful not to touch the metal contacts on the fuse.
Once the blown fuse is removed, insert a new 20-amp fuse into the fuse box. Press the fuse down until it clicks into place.
Replace the fuse box cover and close the hood of your Explorer. The rear power outlet should now be working again.
