Locate the tail light assembly on the rear of your Tacoma. It is the red or amber lens that covers the brake light, turn signal light, and reverse light.
Remove the two screws that secure the tail light assembly to the vehicle. The screws are located on the inside of the trunk, behind the tail light assembly.
Gently pry the tail light assembly out of its housing. Be careful not to damage the lens or the wiring.
Disconnect the electrical connector from the back of the tail light assembly.
Remove the old brake bulb from the socket by turning it counterclockwise.
Insert the new brake bulb into the socket and turn it clockwise until it is secure.
Reconnect the electrical connector to the back of the tail light assembly.
Gently press the tail light assembly back into its housing.
Secure the tail light assembly with the two screws that you removed in step 2.
