2. Try wiggling the Seat Belt Buckle. Gently move the seat belt buckle from side to side and up and down, while pushing the release button. This may help to dislodge any debris or obstructions that are preventing the seat belt from unlatching.
3. Apply Lubricant. If wiggling the buckle doesn't help, use a dry, silicone-based lubricant to lubricate the seat belt mechanism. Spray a small amount of lubricant directly into the buckle and work it in by moving the buckle back and forth.
4. Use a Flat-Head Screwdriver. Insert the flat-head screwdriver into the release mechanism and press it down. This should release the seat belt. Be sure not to press down on the release mechanism with too much force.
5. Check for Damage. If the seat belt still won't unlatch, there may be damage to the seat belt buckle or mechanism. In this case, it is best to have your seat belt inspected by a qualified technician.
