1. Check the position of the rotor. The rotor should be pointing towards the number one spark plug wire terminal on the distributor cap.
2. Check the spark plug wires. The spark plug wires should be connected to the distributor cap in the correct order. The firing order for a 350 engine is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2.
3. Start the engine and listen for any unusual noises. If the distributor cap is not installed correctly, the engine may run rough or make a knocking noise.
