Cylinder Head

* On the crankshaft sprocket and the camshaft sprocket, there is an alignment arrow and a notch in the sprocket hub. Align the arrows on the sprocket with the notch in the hub before installing the sprocket on the crankshaft or camshaft. On vehicles equipped with the balance shaft the alignment arrow on the balance shaft sprocket must also be aligned with notch on the sprocket.

Crankshaft

* The crankshaft timing mark is located on the crankshaft pulley, in line with the No. 1 cylinder spark plug wire.

* The crankshaft timing marks are also visible through the timing inspection cover on the front of the engine.

Camshaft

* The camshaft timing mark is located on the rear of the camshaft, in line with the No. 1 cylinder intake valve.

* The camshaft timing marks are also visible through the timing inspection cover on the front of the engine.

Balance shaft (if equipped)

* The balance shaft timing mark is located on the front of the balance shaft gear.

* The balance shaft timing marks are visible through the timing inspection cover on the front of the engine.
