The IAT sensor measures the temperature of the air entering the engine and sends this information to the engine control unit (ECU).
- To fix this issue, you will need to:
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
- Remove the air filter cover and air filter.
- Use a wrench to loosen the clamp on the connector at the bottom of the IAT sensor.
- Pull the connector off.
- Use a 5/8 inch wrench to loosen the sensor at the base.
- Slide the sensor out, being careful not to drop it into the engine manifold.
- Inspect the sensor for damage and replace it if needed.
- Insert the new sensor into the intake manifold and tighten it securely.
- Reinstall the connector.
- Tighten the clamp on the connector. Reattach the air filter and air filter cover.
- Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
