1. Park the vehicle on a level surface and apply the parking brake.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position, but do not start the engine.
3. Press and hold the "4WD" button on the center console for a few seconds. The indicator light on the button should illuminate, indicating that the 4WD system is engaged.
4. Shift the transmission into the "4H" or "4L" position.
5. Try to turn the front wheels by hand. If they are still locked, you will need to proceed to the next step.
6. Get out of the vehicle and locate the front auto-locking hubs. They are located on the front wheels, near the wheel bearings.
7. There should be a small cap or cover on the hub that can be removed by hand or with a flat-head screwdriver.
8. Once the cap is removed, you will see a small lever or knob inside the hub.
9. Use a screwdriver or other tool to turn the lever or knob counterclockwise until it stops. This will unlock the hub and allow the front wheels to turn freely.
10. Replace the cap or cover on the hub and get back in the vehicle.
11. Shift the transmission back into the "2WD" position and turn off the ignition.
The front auto-locking hubs should now be unlocked and the vehicle should be able to be driven in 2WD mode. If the hubs are still stuck, you may need to take the vehicle to a mechanic for further assistance.
