How do you change oil-pump in 1992 ford crown Victoria?

Tools and Materials:

- New oil pump (with strainer and gasket)

- Oil filter

- Oil filter wrench

- Socket set

- Wrench

- Screwdriver

- Oil drain pan

- Funnel

- New oil (check owner's manual for recommended type and amount)

- Safety glasses

- Gloves

- Rags

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Prepare the vehicle. Park the vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake. Allow the engine to cool down. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Drain the oil. Remove the drain plug from the oil pan and allow the oil to drain into an oil drain pan. Replace the drain plug.

3. Remove the oil filter. Use an oil filter wrench to loosen the oil filter. Remove the oil filter and discard it.

4. Remove the oil pump.

* Locate the oil pump on the engine block. It is usually located on the front of the engine, below the water pump.

* Disconnect any electrical connectors that are attached to the oil pump.

* Use a socket set to remove the bolts that hold the oil pump in place.

* Remove the oil pump from the engine block. Be careful not to damage the gasket.

5. Install the new oil pump.

* Place the new oil pump gasket on the engine block.

* Install the oil pump and secure it with the bolts that you removed earlier.

* Reconnect any electrical connectors that you disconnected.

6. Install the new oil filter. Screw on the new oil filter by hand until it is snug. Do not overtighten the oil filter.

7. Refill the engine with oil. Use a funnel to add new oil to the engine through the oil fill port. Add the amount of oil specified in the owner's manual.

8. Check for leaks. Start the engine and allow it to run for a few minutes. Check for any oil leaks around the oil pump, oil filter, and drain plug. If you see any leaks, tighten the bolts or replace the gasket.

9. Reconnect the battery. Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
