1. Park the vehicle on a level surface and set the parking brake.
2. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down.
3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
4. Raise the vehicle using a jack and jack stands.
5. Remove the front tire on the side of the engine where the crankshaft seal is located.
6. Remove the brake caliper and rotor.
7. Remove the oil filter.
8. Use a pry bar to pry the timing belt cover off of the engine.
9. Locate the crankshaft seal. It is located at the front of the engine, behind the timing belt.
10. Use a flat-head screwdriver to pry the crankshaft seal out of its housing.
11. Clean the crankshaft seal mating surface with a degreaser.
12. Apply a thin coat of grease to the new crankshaft seal.
13. Press the new crankshaft seal into its housing until it is flush with the surface.
14. Reinstall the timing belt cover.
15. Reinstall the oil filter.
16. Reinstall the brake caliper and rotor.
17. Reinstall the front tire.
18. Lower the vehicle using the jack and jack stands.
19. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
20. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Check for any leaks from the crankshaft seal.
21. If there are no leaks, turn off the engine and reinstall the oil drain plug.
