Accelerator pump adjustment on demon carb?

Adjusting Accelerator Pump on a Demon Carburetor

1. Prepare the carburetor. Remove the air cleaner and top cover of the carburetor. With the engine off, press the accelerator pump arm in all the way and release quickly several times. This will help flood the accelerator pump chamber.

2. Locate the accelerator pump adjustment screw. The adjustment screw is located on the front of the carburetor, just below the throttle body. It has a small flathead screwdriver slot.

3. Start the engine and let it warm up.

4. Rev the engine to 2500 RPM and hold it. Use a tachometer to ensure the engine is running at the correct speed.

5. Using a small flathead screwdriver, turn the accelerator pump adjustment screw clockwise until the engine bogs down from too rich of a fuel mixture.

6. Turn the accelerator pump adjustment screw counterclockwise until the engine starts to run lean and hesitate.

7. Continue to turn the adjustment screw counterclockwise until the engine runs smoothly.

8. Rev the engine again to 2500 RPM and hold it. Verify the engine is still running smoothly.

9. Test drive the vehicle. Check for any hesitation or stumble when accelerating. If you notice any problems, adjust the accelerator pump screw until the engine runs smoothly.

Tips:

- If the accelerator pump is not adjusted properly, it can cause the engine to stumble, hesitate, or bog down.

- The accelerator pump adjustment screw is very sensitive. Only make small adjustments until the engine runs smoothly.

- If you still experience problems with the accelerator pump, you may need to rebuild or replace it.
