- Lug wrench
- Jack and jack stands
- Breaker bar
- Socket set
- Flathead screwdriver
- Hammer
Instructions:
1. Park your vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
2. Use the lug wrench to loosen the lug nuts on the wheel you'll be removing. Make sure to turn them counterclockwise until you hear a clicking noise.
3. Raise your vehicle with the jack until the wheel is off the ground. Be sure to use jack stands to support the vehicle once you reach your desired height.
4. Remove the lug nuts completely and take off the wheel.
5. Locate the hubcap on the wheel hub. It's typically a metal or plastic cover that sits over the lug nuts.
6. Use the flathead screwdriver to pry off the hubcap. Start at one edge of the hubcap and work your way around until it pops off.
7. Find the wheel hub assembly bolts, which are located on the back of the wheel hub. They are typically 17mm bolts.
8. Use the socket set and breaker bar to loosen the wheel hub assembly bolts. Turning them counterclockwise until they are loose but not fully removed.
9. Place a block of wood or metal between the brake rotor and the caliper. This will prevent the caliper from moving while you're removing the hub assembly.
10. Use the hammer to gently tap the hub assembly until it loosens from the wheel hub. Be careful not to damage the hub assembly or the wheel hub.
11. Remove the hub assembly from the vehicle.
12. Clean the wheel hub and install a new hub assembly.
13. Tighten the hub assembly bolts, then the lugnuts, and put the hubcap back on.
14. Lower your vehicle with the jack and remove the jack stands.
