1. Park the car on a level surface and turn off the engine.
2. Open the hood and locate the transmission fluid dipstick. It is usually located near the back of the engine, on the driver's side.
3. Pull the dipstick out and wipe it clean with a rag.
4. Reinsert the dipstick into the transmission fluid tube until it is fully seated.
5. Pull the dipstick out again and check the fluid level. The fluid level should be between the "FULL" and "ADD" marks on the dipstick.
6. If the fluid level is low, add enough transmission fluid to bring it up to the "FULL" mark. Use a funnel to add the fluid to avoid spilling it.
7. Replace the dipstick and close the hood.
Here are some additional tips for checking and adding transmission fluid:
* Check the transmission fluid level regularly, especially if you are experiencing any transmission problems.
* Use only the type of transmission fluid recommended by the manufacturer.
* If the transmission fluid is dirty or smells burnt, it may need to be changed.
* If you are adding a significant amount of transmission fluid, it is important to have a professional check for any transmission problems.
