Materials needed:
Flat head screwdriver
Long rod or stick
Steps to open the bonnet:
1. Park your car on a flat surface and apply the handbrake.
2. Locate the emergency bonnet release. In the Skoda Fabia, it is usually situated beneath the grille. You may need a flashlight to see it clearly.
3. Use the flathead screwdriver to carefully pry open the grille's edges and gain access to the release lever.
4. Once you have access to the emergency release lever, insert the long rod or stick into the hole next to the level. You might need to use some force or wiggle the rod inside to actuate the release mechanism.
5. Continue pushing and wiggling the rod or stick until you feel or hear the bonnet click or pop open.
6. Once the bonnet has opened partially, reach in and pull the release latch to raise it completely.
Remember to be cautious while trying to open the bonnet with a broken cable. If you encounter significant resistance or difficulty, it is recommended to seek assistance from a professional. Additionally, ensure that you reinstall the bonnet cable as soon as possible to prevent any future issues.
