- Flat-blade screwdriver

- 10mm, 15mm, 17mm socket and wrench

- Extension (optional)

- Pliers

- Scraper

- Ratchet

- Ramps

- Fluid Pump

Parts

- Oil Pan Gasket

- Oil Filter Gasket

- New oil

Time

- Approximately 1 hour

Procedure

1. Drive the vehicle onto a set of ramps. This will give you enough room to work underneath it.

2. Locate the oil pan. It's the large metal pan that's located under the engine. The oil drain plug is located in the center of the pan.

3. Place an oil drain pan under the oil drain plug. Use the 17mm wrench to loosen the oil drain plug and allow the oil to drain.

4. Once the oil has drained, replace the oil drain plug.

5. Locate the oil pan bolts. They're located around the perimeter of the oil pan. Use the 10mm socket and wrench to loosen the oil pan bolts.

6. Use a flat-blade screwdriver to pry the old oil pan gasket from the oil pan. Be careful not to damage the oil pan.

7. Clean the oil pan and mating surface of the engine with a scraper. Make sure to remove all of the old gasket material.

8. Apply a thin bead of new oil pan gasket material to the oil pan.

9. Carefully position the oil pan back into place and install the oil pan bolts. Tighten the oil pan bolts in a crisscross pattern to 15 ft-lbs.

10. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Check for any oil leaks.

11. Lower the vehicle to the ground, and change the oil filter. You will need a 15mm socket for this.

12. Check the oil level and add oil if necessary.
