How did Audi car get its name?

The name Audi comes from the founder of the company, August Horch. "Horch" is German for "listen," a fitting name for an automobile company. However, after a falling out with his partners, August Horch started a new car company. Since he couldn't use the name Horch (due to legal reasons related to the original company), he decided to use the Latin translation of "Horch," which is "Audi."
