Did they make cars during World War 2?
Yes, cars were still made during World War II, although production was significantly reduced due to the war effort. In the United States, for example, car production declined by more than 90% between 1941 and 1945. However, some car companies did continue to produce vehicles for the military and for essential civilian purposes. For example, Ford produced the famous Jeep, while General Motors produced the M3 Light Tank. After the war, car production quickly resumed and in fact reached record highs in the United States in the late 1940s and early 1950s.
