How do you replace a cam shaft sensor and where is it located on 2000 s40 Volvo?

Tools Needed:

- Flat-head screwdriver

- Small socket set

- Extension for the socket set

- New camshaft sensor (Volvo part number 30636126)

Instructions:

1. Start by disconnecting the negative terminal of your car's battery. This will prevent you from accidentally damaging any of the electrical components in the car.

2. Locate the camshaft sensor. It's located on the back of the engine, near the top. It's a small black cylinder-shaped object with an electrical connector on one end.

3. Use a small socket set to remove the bolt holding the camshaft sensor in place. Be careful not to drop the bolt.

4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the camshaft sensor.

5. Remove the old camshaft sensor from the engine.

6. Install the new camshaft sensor into the engine. Make sure that the O-ring is properly seated in the groove on the sensor.

7. Replace the bolt that holds the camshaft sensor in place. Tighten the bolt until it's snug.

8. Reconnect the electrical connector to the camshaft sensor.

9. Reconnect the negative terminal of your car's battery.

10. Start your engine and make sure that the camshaft sensor is working properly.
