The rate of car crashes involving teen drivers is significantly higher than that of any other age group. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), fatal crashes are nearly three times as likely to occur among teenagers than among all drivers. In addition, teenagers are over two and a half times as likely to sustain injuries in car accidents than adult drivers.
In the United States, car accidents involving teenagers result in approximately 500,000 injuries and over 3,500 deaths annually.
