What would cause the drive light to blink on a 2002 Honda CR-V?

The D light (drive) is a symbol on the dashboard of your vehicle. D stands for over drive. There are usually 2 drive lights. One is green, and one in orange. The green light illuminates when you are in drive. Most vehicles have multiple selections or "gears" (R for reverse, P for park, N for neutral, D for drive).

Typically the drive light does not blink. If the drive light is blinking there are a few possible reasons.

- The first, and most likely explanation is that the transmission fluid is low.

- Check your transmission fluid and top up if necessary.

- The second possibility is that there is a problem with the shift solenoid.

- The shift solenoid is a part of the transmission that controls the shifting of gears.

- If the shift solenoid is not working properly, it can cause the transmission to not shift properly and the drive light to blink.

- If you suspect that the shift solenoid is the problem, you will need to have your car looked at by a professional.

- The last possibility is that the torque converter is failing.

- The torque converter is a part of the transmission that transfers power from the engine to the transmission.

- If the torque converter is failing, it can cause the drive light to blink.
