How do you remove the dashboard of a 1991 Mercedes Benz g class?

To remove the dashboard of a 1991 Mercedes Benz G Class, follow these steps:

Note: Disconnecting the battery is not necessary for this task. However, it is recommended as a safety precaution to prevent any electrical accidents.

1. Remove the Steering Wheel.

Use a steering wheel puller to remove the steering wheel. Be careful not to damage the steering wheel or the steering column.

2. Remove the Airbag Module.

On both sides of the steering wheel, you'll find two plastic covers (one on each side). Gently pry these covers off and you will see two Torx screws. Remove these Torx screws. Now, using a Torx screwdriver, remove the two Torx screws that are holding the airbag module in place. Gently pull the airbag module out and place it aside in a safe location. Be sure to disconnect any electrical connectors to the airbag module.

3. Remove the Instrument Cluster.

To remove the instrument cluster, you'll need to remove four screws that hold the cluster in place. 3 on the top of the cluster and one in the center to the right. Disconnect any electrical connectors to the instrument cluster and carefully remove the instrument cluster from the dashboard.

4. Remove the Radio and Climate Control Unit.

Remove the four screws that hold the radio and climate control unit in place, and then carefully remove the unit from the dashboard. Disconnect any electrical connectors to the radio and climate control unit.

5. Remove the Dashboard.

There are several nuts and bolts that hold the dashboard in place. You'll need to use a wrench and socket set to remove these. Once all the nuts and bolts are removed, you can carefully lift the dashboard up and out of the vehicle.

Remember to disconnect any electrical connectors to the dashboard before removing it completely. Be sure to label any connectors so you can easily reconnect them when you are reinstalling the dashboard.
