Step 3: Find the Adjustment Screws:
1. Look for two adjustment screws on the carburetor: the "air/fuel mixture" screw and the "idle speed" screw.
2. These screws may have covers or protective caps. Remove them if necessary.
Step 4: Adjust Air/Fuel Mixture:
1. Turn the air/fuel mixture screw gently. Usually, turning it counterclockwise will make the mixture richer (more fuel), and turning it clockwise will make it leaner (less fuel).
2. Start with small, incremental turns (typically 1/8 to 1/4 of a turn) and observe how the engine responds.
3. Aim for a balance where the engine starts easily, idles smoothly, and responds to throttle inputs without hesitation.
Step 5: Adjust Idle Speed:
1. Once the air/fuel mixture is adjusted, turn the idle speed screw. Turning it counterclockwise will slow down the idle, while turning it clockwise will increase the idle speed.
