- A socket wrench
- A screwdriver
- A pair of pliers
- A shop towel
1. To begin, loosen the two bolts holding the caliper in place. Use the socket wrench to loosen these bolts, but do not remove them completely.
2. Gently pry the caliper away from the brake pads using the screwdriver. Be careful not to damage the caliper or the pads.
3. Once the caliper is removed, you can remove the brake pads by pulling them out of their slots.
4. Inspect the brake pads for wear and damage. If the pads are worn down to the metal backing, or if they are cracked or damaged, they will need to be replaced.
5. To reinstall the brake pads, simply insert them into their slots and replace the caliper. Tighten the two bolts holding the caliper in place.
6. Test the brakes to make sure they are working properly before riding your motorcycle.
