Step 1: Remove the old serpentine belt.
- Loosen the tensioner pulley bolt.
- Remove the old serpentine belt.
Step 2: Install the new serpentine belt.
- Place the new serpentine belt around the pulleys, starting with the crankshaft pulley.
- Make sure that the belt is properly seated in all of the pulleys.
- Tighten the tensioner pulley bolt.
Step 3: Check the belt tension.
- Use a belt tension gauge to check the belt tension.
- The belt tension should be between 25 and 35 pounds.
- If the belt tension is too loose, tighten the tensioner pulley bolt.
- If the belt tension is too tight, loosen the tensioner pulley bolt.
Step 4: Test the belt.
- Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
- Listen for any unusual noises.
- Check for any signs of belt slippage.
- If you notice any problems, stop the engine and inspect the belt.
