How do you repair a brake switch on harley softtail?

To repair the brake switch on a Harley Davidson softtail, follow these steps:

  1. Turn off the engine and locate the brake switch. The brake switch is usually located on the right side of the handlebars near the brake lever.

  2. Disconnect the wiring harness from the brake switch. Be careful not to lose any of the small parts

  3. Remove the nuts holding the switch in place. There are 2 mounting bolts that hold the switch in place underneath the brake lever assembly

  4. Pull the old switch out of the motorcycle

  5. Install the new switch in the reverse order.

  6. Tighten the bolts that hold the new switch in place.

  7. Reconnect the wiring harness to the new switch.

  8. Test the brake switch by squeezing the brake lever. The brake light should come on when you squeeze the lever.

If the brake light does not come on, recheck your work and make sure that you have properly connected the wiring harness and switch.
