4. Disassemble the carburetor. Once the carburetor is removed from the motorcycle, it can be disassembled. There are several small parts that make up the carburetor, so it is important to be careful not to lose any of them. The following steps provide instructions for disassembling the carburetor:
* Remove the float bowl cover by removing the four screws that hold it in place.
* Remove the float assembly by grasping the float with your fingers and pulling it upwards.
* Remove the main jet by using a flat-head screwdriver to pry it out of the carburetor body.
* Remove the pilot jet by using a flat-head screwdriver to pry it out of the carburetor body.
* Remove the needle valve by using a pair of needle-nose pliers to pull it out of the carburetor body.
5. Clean the carburetor components. The carburetor components should be cleaned thoroughly with a carburetor cleaner. Be sure to remove all of the dirt, debris, and old fuel from the components.
6. Reassemble the carburetor. Once the carburetor components have been cleaned, the carburetor can be reassembled. Follow the steps in the reverse order that you disassembled the carburetor.
7. Reinstall the carburetor. Once the carburetor is reassembled, it can be reinstalled on the motorcycle. Follow the steps in the reverse order that you removed the carburetor.
8. Start the motorcycle. Once the carburetor is reinstalled, the motorcycle can be started. Check for fuel leaks and make sure that the motorcycle is idling smoothly.
