1. Park the vehicle on a level surface and turn off the engine. Allow the engine to cool down completely before proceeding.
2. Open the hood of the vehicle.
3. Locate the valve covers. The valve covers are located on the top of the engine, on either side of the cylinder head.
4. Remove the valve covers. There are four bolts that hold each valve cover in place. Remove these bolts and carefully lift off the valve covers.
5. Inspect the old valve cover gasket. The old gasket should be removed from the valve cover and the cylinder head. Inspect the gasket for any signs of damage or wear.
6. Install the new valve cover gasket. Place the new gasket on the cylinder head and carefully lower the valve cover into place. Tighten the bolts that hold the valve cover in place.
7. Repeat steps 4-6 for the other valve cover.
8. Check for leaks. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Check around the valve covers for any signs of leaks. If there are any leaks, tighten the bolts that hold the valve covers in place until the leaks stop.
