1. The thermostat is located in the upper radiator hose housing, right next to the water pump.
2. It can be accessed from the top of the engine compartment.
How to change a 2007 Dodge Caliber SXT?
1. Drain the coolant by removing the drain plug from the bottom of the radiator.
2. Remove the upper radiator hose by loosening the hose clamp and pulling the hose off of the thermostat housing.
3. Remove the two bolts holding the thermostat housing to the engine block.
4. Remove the thermostat from the housing.
5. Install a new thermostat. Make sure to place the thermostat in the housing correctly, with the jiggle valve pointing up.
6. Reinstall the thermostat housing and the two bolts.
7. Tighten the hose clamp on the upper radiator hose.
8. Refill the coolant system with the proper type of coolant.
9. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes to check for leaks.
