To repair the console latch on a 2000 Silverado, follow these steps:

Materials needed:

* 7mm socket wrench

* Flathead screwdriver

* Pliers

Instructions:

1. Locate the console latch. The console latch is located on the driver's side of the center console, near the front.

2. Remove the screws that hold the console latch in place. There are two 7mm screws that hold the console latch in place. Use the 7mm socket wrench to remove these screws.

3. Unplug the electrical connector from the console latch. Once the screws are removed, unplug the electrical connector from the back of the console latch.

4. Remove the console latch from the center console. Once the electrical connector is unplugged, you can remove the console latch from the center console. Use the flathead screwdriver to pry open the tabs that hold the console latch in place, then lift the console latch out of the center console.

5. Install the new console latch. Place the new console latch into the center console and align the mounting holes with the holes in the center console. Insert the two 7mm screws and tighten them using the 7mm socket wrench.

6. Plug in the electrical connector. Reconnect the electrical connector to the back of the console latch.

7. Test the console latch. Open and close the center console to make sure that the console latch is working properly.
