Tools Needed:
- Flat-head screwdriver
- Phillips-head screwdriver
- Replacement sun visor
Instructions:
1. Remove the Existing Sun Visor:
- Locate the two Philips-head screws that secure the sun visor to the vehicle's roof. They are usually located on the top and bottom of the visor.
- Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to loosen and remove these screws.
- After removing the screws, carefully pull the sun visor down from the roof until it comes off the mounting bracket.
2. Disconnect the Wiring:
- If your sun visor has any electrical components, such as a vanity mirror light, you will need to disconnect the wiring before removing the visor completely.
- Locate the wire connector or harness near the base of the sun visor.
- Press the release tab or squeeze the connector to release it, and then disconnect the wiring.
3. Remove the Sun Visor Bracket:
- Locate the sun visor mounting bracket on the vehicle's roof.
- There may be some plastic covers or caps on the bracket. Use a flat-head screwdriver to pry them off gently.
- Once the covers are removed, you will see another Phillips-head screw that secures the bracket.
- Use the Phillips-head screwdriver to loosen and remove this screw.
- The sun visor bracket should now be loose and can be removed from the roof.
4. Install the New Sun Visor:
- Position the new sun visor bracket onto the vehicle's roof, aligning it with the mounting holes on the roof.
- Secure the bracket with the Phillips-head screw that you removed earlier.
- Connect any electrical components, if applicable.
- Insert the new sun visor's mounting posts into the bracket.
- Secure the sun visor by tightening the Philips-head screws at the top and bottom.
5. Test the Sun Visor:
- Open and close the sun visor to ensure that it is installed securely and moves smoothly.
- Confirm that any electrical components, such as the vanity mirror light, are working properly.
