Instructions:
- Park your car on a level surface and allow it to cool down.
- Open the hood.
- Locate the water pump. It is usually located on the front of the engine.
- Place the coolant drain pan under the water pump.
- Remove the bolts that hold the water pump in place.
- Carefully remove the water pump, being careful not to spill any coolant.
- Remove the old gasket from the water pump and cylinder head.
- Place the new gasket on the water pump and cylinder head. Be sure that the gasket surfaces are clean and free of rust and scale!
- Install the water pump onto the cylinder head and tighten the bolts in a crisscross pattern.
- Refill the cooling system with a 50/50 mixture of coolant and water.
- Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
- Check to make sure that there are no leaks.
- If there are any leaks, tighten the bolts a little more.
*Tip: It's usually better to remove the engine drive-belt before you remove the water-pump pulley.*
