How do you change a water pump on 2002 Mazda millenia?

Tools Required:

- Socket set

- Wrench set

- Screwdriver

- Coolant drain pan

- Funnel

- New water pump

- Gasket

- Coolant

Instructions:

- Park your car on a level surface and allow it to cool down.

- Open the hood.

- Locate the water pump. It is usually located on the front of the engine.

- Place the coolant drain pan under the water pump.

- Remove the bolts that hold the water pump in place.

- Carefully remove the water pump, being careful not to spill any coolant.

- Remove the old gasket from the water pump and cylinder head.

- Place the new gasket on the water pump and cylinder head. Be sure that the gasket surfaces are clean and free of rust and scale!

- Install the water pump onto the cylinder head and tighten the bolts in a crisscross pattern.

- Refill the cooling system with a 50/50 mixture of coolant and water.

- Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.

- Check to make sure that there are no leaks.

- If there are any leaks, tighten the bolts a little more.

*Tip: It's usually better to remove the engine drive-belt before you remove the water-pump pulley.*
